The Ultimate Beach Save: 9K Gold and Gemstones on Barry Island Beach!
What an unforgettable evening on the sand! The weather was absolute perfection—not too hot, not too cold, and beautifully calm without a breath of wind. I had the Minelab Manticore fired up, rocking the massive 15-inch coil which is an absolute beast for covering ground on the beach.
The session started exactly how beach metal detecting usually does: digging ring pull after ring pull. It is easy to get discouraged when your pouch is filling up with trash, and the only "treasure" to show for an hour of hard work was a tatty, fake gold ring. But in this hobby, persistence is everything. You are only ever one swing away from something incredible.
Then, it happened.
I got a solid, repeatable 20 on the VDI. I dug down, shifted the sand, and out popped this stunning 9-carat gold ring! It features an intricate design set with beautiful, deep red stones. They look like high-clarity garnets, though there is always a tiny hope they could be rubies. Either way, seeing true gold gleaming in the scoop never fails to get the heart racing.
A huge shoutout to all the live streamers who were out there with me. Sharing the banter, the laughs, and the live excitement makes a massive find like this taste even sweeter.

Lightning Strikes Twice: A Delicate White Gold Eternity Ring!
Talk about an incredible week of metal detecting! Early on in the exact same week as the garnet find, the beach gave up another spectacular treasure during one of our live streams. After battling the usual coastal trash, a beautiful, razor-thin white gold eternity ring emerged from the wet sand.
Finding white gold is always a thrilling challenge. It often mimics the signals of everyday junk, meaning you have to dig it all to find the prize. This ring is incredibly delicate, lined with a continuous row of sparkling, closely-set stones that catch the light perfectly.
What made this dig truly special was sharing it live with all of you in the chat. There is nothing quite like the collective buzz of the community when a genuine piece of precious jewelry drops out of the sand right on camera. Setting the tone early in the week with this beauty definitely kept the momentum going for the epic garnet haul just days later!
