August Find of the Month: 9ct Gold Garnet Ring Discovery
Every detectorist dreams of that undeniable, solid signal that makes your heart skip a beat. During a recent evening beach session, that exact dream came true, earning its rightful spot as my ultimate Find of the Month for August.
While swinging the beach, I locked onto a beautifully crisp, repeatable 20 VDI on the Minelab Manticore. Digging into the wet sand, I expected the usual ring pull—but instead, a flash of genuine gold gleamed back from the scoop.
The Details of the Find
This stunning piece is a 9ct yellow gold ring beautifully set with deep, rich red gemstones. The intricate vintage detailing framing the stones suggests a classic, timeless design. While the deep crimson stones look exactly like high-clarity garnets, there is always that exciting, lingering hope they could be rubies!
Pulling real gold out of the sand is always an incredible rush, but this piece stands out because of its beautiful craftsmanship. It is a brilliant reminder of why persistence pays off in this hobby—you truly are only ever one swing away from an amazing piece of history.
