Metal Detecting Land vs Beach: Charles II Silver Love Token Found!
The beach was incredibly quiet this week and didn't give up anything good, but the land absolutely provided with some beautiful historic treasures. My absolute find of the week from my permissions is a stunning Charles II silver love token, which I actually uneararthed live on stream! What makes this piece so breathtaking is the history worn right into it; centuries ago, someone took the time to deliberately rub this silver coin down smooth until you could hardly see the original details. They then punched a hole through the top so it could be worn as a pendant on a necklace, leaving us with a deeply personal, treasured symbol of historical affection. Once the fields started giving, the outstanding land rewards just kept coming for the next chapter of the hunt. My second combined image showcases a lovely Georgian buckle with a fantastic design, beautiful intricate etchings, and a gorgeous distinct green patina. Next to it is a highly interesting livery button stamped with a distinct bull's head, which offers a fascinating glimpse into local estate history. Finally, I managed a massive personal milestone by unearthing my very first Edward VII silver three pence! I have previously found his shillings, sixpences, and a florin, but this first-ever three pence makes the week incredibly special. Rotating between my Minelab Manticore, Minelab Vanquish 360, and the Minelab X-Terra Elite throughout the week completely paid off, and I can't wait to see what next week brings!
